Origin Story

Amanda, Founder.

Before I ever called myself a coach, I was an international lobbyist, sitting in rooms with CEOs, heads of state, and senior power brokers shaping national policy and global strategy. What struck me early on wasn’t just the scale of the decisions being made, but how profoundly those outcomes were influenced by the inner world of the individuals in the room. Their emotional regulation, relational patterns, and capacity to navigate pressure often determined whether institutions, governments, and Fortune 100 companies thrived (or quietly unraveled) when challenged. That insight followed me into my next chapter.

For over a decade, I’ve worked as an executive business coach and transformation strategist, primarily in the tech sector. I’ve partnered with Series A and B founding teams and C-suite leaders across most Fortune 50 organizations. Again and again, I noticed the same pattern: strategy rarely failed because of intellect or ambition, it failed because of unresolved interpersonal dynamics. I used to joke that I was providing marriage counseling for “work wives and husbands”. But the truth was more serious. Cofounder relationships, executive trust, unspoken resentments, and misaligned communication styles were often the hidden variables determining whether a business scaled sustainably or collapsed under pressure. That realization is what led me to create The Modern Finishing School.
